Warning on PayPal, Royal Mail and Hermes scams that steal a lifetime’s savings

An urgent warning has been sent to the British regarding the scams involving Amazon, Hermes, Royal Mail and other well-known names.

Scammers target people across the country in an attempt to steal their hard-earned money – and sometimes they manage to empty a bank account in just a few minutes.

Humberside Police said: “Scams come in many forms, so it can be too easy to be a victim of fraud.

“Fraudsters often contact thousands of people at random in the hope that a few will be tricked into giving out their money, bank details or other personal information.”

An ITV Tonight documentary shed light on the wave of scams in recent years.

The show explained how fraudsters masqueraded as employees of Hermès, DPD, PayPal and banks in text messages and emails.

It aired Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. on ITV1.

But law enforcement is still urging people to exercise caution and remain vigilant in the face of a worrying increase in fraudulent messages, BirminghamLive reports.

The research listed below also shows that Hermes, DVLA and Amazon scams are increasing massively, as well as scams relating to banking giants in the UK.
