Big Brother Naija – Day 8: Tier 1 Hermès wins

Hermes breathed a huge sigh of relief when he realized he definitely won this one against HoH runners-up Tier 2 Cyph and Tier 1 Dotun. This is the second time the tier 1 wins the head of house challenge.

The Head of House challenge meant another meeting for the Level 1 and Level 2 roommates, but unlike Saturday night’s party, where they last met, the stakes were high tonight as each of the 23 housemates would fight for the title of chef. Of the House.

As outgoing Head of House, Eloswag, was ineligible to participate in this week’s HoH challenge. Other viewers were Deji and Modella as new roommates.

As HoH, Hermès will have immunity from possible deportation this week, immunity for the Head of Household level, and exclusive power of appointment.

Week 2 HoH Challenge Mechanics

There are 2 challenges.

For the first challenge, there are 23 bowls, each containing 10 toy wristwatches. The watches have been set to the same time, your challenge is to set each wristwatch to 4 hours.

Once a wristwatch has been set to 4 o’clock, you must place the wristwatch on the stool next to the bowl. This challenge is timed for 5 minutes only.

The 5 housemates with the fastest time to complete this challenge will advance to the next round. The challenge is simple. Set wristwatches at 4 o’clock. The longer hand is the minute hand, it should be set to 12. The shorter hand is the hour hand and it should be set to 4.

Housemates were asked to choose a stool, stand on it, place their name tag on the stool for easy identification, and wait for the buzzer to initiate the challenge.

There was complete silence as the roommates did their best to wave their hands in the right direction.

Before Big Brother announced the results of the first round, there was an indistinct murmur in the arena as the housemates mourned their shortcomings in the challenge. Meanwhile, the Ninjas examined each of the eight wristwatches on all the stools to determine who would advance to the next round. There was no ignoring Hermes meditating

However, the game had to continue and Big Brother announced that although Chomzy from Level 1 and Khalid from Level 2 both completed the change the fastest, but some of their wristwatches failed to tell the time. accurately and they were disqualified to proceed to the next phase.

Dotun and Hermès from level 1 as well as Cyph from level 2, qualified for the next Challenge. This would be the second time in a row that Cyph and Dotun have made it this far in the HoH Challenge.

Dotun asked if they could use their hands to drop the ball, to which Big Brother said yes.

The decision maker’s challenge

There are 5 ball pits at one end of the arena, and there are 5 empty bowls at the other end of the arena. You have to move the balls from the ball pools to the empty pools by placing the balls between your knees. You are not allowed to use your hands to touch the balls beyond the marked areas. It is the point of departure and arrival.

If your ball falls while you are in transit, you must start over. A Ninja will show you the starting point and an example of how to place the ball between your knees. This challenge will also last 5 minutes and the housemate with the best performance at the end of the 5 minutes will be crowned head of house.

Dotun was the first to drop his ball and had to come back to the start, as did Hermes while Cyph seemed to have the upper hand early on. It didn’t take long for Hermes to master the art of the game and opted to slow down rather than bounce all over the place, a tactic the other two contenders soon adopted.

Dotun’s jumps didn’t seem to get him very far, due to his sweatpants falling down and disrupting his rhythm. Hermès adopted their initial strategy and maybe their short shorts helped their game.
